One Hundred Years Flood
Southeastern MN experienced the
most disasterous flooding in decades. We were spared--not a drop in our basement, but those 2 blocks from us were not so fortunate. The first two pictures are of sheds floating in what was the park across from the trailer court south of our subdivision. I went out to take these pictures quite a few hours after the water had crested. At its highest, it reached the top of the curly slide in the park.

The water had completely covered the corn in this field before it began to recede. In the background of the picture are new assisted living apartments for the elderly. Our neighbors parents were rescued by boat from their apt at 4:00 in the morning.
Water came within a foot of flooding this bridge on HWY 74...the only open road to our neighborhood.
